So, who knew water ballon fights could be so dangerous? On July 6, JEnn had a birthday party . During the water ballon fight Terina slipped and fell.
She is doing much better after surgery.

Awards dinner

Tonight was the yearly awards di ner for Ethan's Troop. He was rhe number 4 Honor Scout. He was promoted from Patrol leader to Quartermaster.
I am so proud of him.

Nostalgia

A new grocery store has opened in tbe area , The Great Tang Supermarket. It is a mixture of various Asian foods.
I had a strange feeling come over me when I saw this can of sardines. I really miss the time and the people o know
And the food of the Philippines. I know if I were to go bavk today, it would not be the same an ally frienda would not be there but for now, i still have a longing for that time.

Yummy fresh bread

My kids love to eat. Bread is a favorite in my home.. Pb&j sandwiches, grilled cheese or just a quivk snack. I try to use my breadmaker as oftrn as I can sinve it sabes me money.
Our favorite recipe:
1 1/2 cups water
3 1/2 cups flour ( I usually do have wheat and half white flour)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1tbl honey
2tbl evoo
1tsp rapid rise dry yeast

Put it in bread maker and cook
On wheat lite crust... Yummy

day 11 of Becky

My siblings..... I am the oldest of 5.....MY brother Rob is 14 months younger than I am.  He is living in Omaha with his wife.  they have travelled around a bit because of her job. the last place they lived was in the Seattle area.  I really wanted to go and visit them there but they moved before I was able to. Tim was 3 years younger than me.  We had a very special relationship.  I helped take care of him while he had AIDS.  he called me his angel.  He is now my angel.  He died at that age of 29, and that was 18 years ago in October. Jonathan is my youngest brother, he is 8 years younger than me.  He is very artistic. he lives in Massachusetts and is living on his own.  He and his wife are getting divorced.  He is very sad about that, we are too. He is trying to get on with his life , and is struggling.  Beth is my one and only sister.  She is 15 years younger than I am. Because of the age difference, we weren't very close while she was growing up.  We are gettign closer now but the time difference between NY and Arizona often makes it difficult to find time to just chat.  She add her husband, Kendall,  were here for a visit in august.  I really miss being able to spend time with my siblings....

what I  wore today....since it was a foodshopping day ...and I feared  long lines and crowds...I dressed as comfortably as I could...sneakers,,,,black sweat pants and a grey/purpley top...nice and comfy...


food shopping done, put away....and now it is time to get a head start on thanksgiving....prep as much as I can and freeze it, if possible!

My beliefs...I believed that Jesus  died for my sins and He is my saviour.  I believe that the only way to heaven is through Him....

there are so many to pick from....one of my favorite moments was after we adopted the girls.  We went back to White Lake camp had cake...and celebrated with our closest friends!!!

Day 7 of 30 days of Becky

ok, so I have been slacking....

My best friend....hmmmm...another tough one....I have had more than one best friend in my life...depended on the time and the place.  When I was a teen Candy was my best friend.  She is a white Lake Camp friend. when I was in the navy first Jeff was my best friend, like a brother to me. He protected me when we were in the Philippines.  Then in Coronado, Joy was in my best friend.  I still stay in contact with all of them...and I can say I still love them...but we have all moved on and not sure we could still call each other best friends....good friends always.

Ernie, my husband, is now my best friend.  He is the one I can tell everything to.  He might not always agree with me but he sure does listen well!

As you can see, on Columbus Day, 2011, it was warm enough for Vincenzo( 29 months) to go without a jacket...80 degree weather?  We  broke a record!

30 days of Becky day 6

MY day

hmmmm well...... since it is the beginning of the day not much to tell you yet.  BUT today is the day I start to do my job at work differently.   I do intakes with parents at my job, over the phone, but today, I start to go out into homes to do them.  It is an exciting time for me but I am also a bit nervous at the same time, as some areas I will have to go into are not the nicest.  I can suggest to the parents that I meet them at a restaurant or a library....but it really has to be up to them....
so here is to the beginning of a new part of my work....wish me well!

MY youngest brother and my Dad...for two people who do not live together, they sure do end up dressng alike...even down to the white socks and black shoes!  You probably cannot tell but they both have on plaid shirts! 
Last weekend was my brothers 42nd birthday.  Mom and I drove to Mass. to spend the weekend at Dad and Joanna's  to celebrate Jon's day......

When I love you, I will love you even when you irritate me, even when I am upset with you.  I might not talk with you until I cool down but I will still love you.  My love does not depend on if you agree with me or not.  I believe that differences are what make us unique and help make me love the things about you....

What I ate today!!

Breakfast was rice protein with almond milk and cut strawberries amke into a smoothie...yummy!!!

Lunch was green peppers stuff with quinoa, black beans, shredded carrots, onions, garlic.. with a side of roasted beets, sweet potato, cattoes and onions...yummy

Dinner was a salad with a vegan veggie burger smothered in onions, mushrooms and avacado

Snack was homemade hummus and lime flavored chips....

30 days of me...day 3 my parents

my Mom is Barbara...and she lives about 6 minutes from me...when there is no traffic...and I would be lost without her! 
My Dad  is Bruce and he is married to Joanna, Jo...they live in Massachusetts....I don't get to see them nearly often enough! 
they are all retired...and are living a very busy life doing things they want to do...and sometimes I think they are busier than I am! And I work full-time and have 3 kids at home!
